The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the 23rd edition of the men’s World Cup, contested by national teams of FIFA associations. It is the latest edition of the FIFA World Cup after the Qatar 2022 tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in North America, with the United States, Mexico and Canada hosting it, making it the first World Cup to be hosted by three countries.
By hosting it, Mexico became the first country to host the World Cup three times, having hosted it in 1970 and 1986. This year’s competition will be the biggest World Cup ever, as 48 teams will be participating in it for the first time.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19, returning to the traditional summer period after Qatar's 2022 winter tournament.

As one of the hosts, Mexico are favourites, although they will need to get up and running against South Africa in their opener. La Tri are currently priced at 2.00 to win the group and 1.1 to qualify.
However, the battle for second place is open, with the Czechs seen as the favourites at 1.25, ahead of South Korea at 1.45 and South Africa at 2.20
Housebets Group A prediction
Canada are also one of the hosts but have been placed in a really tricky group. Unlike Mexico, the Reds have no strong World Cup pedigree, having failed to win a single game in their two previous World Cup outings.
However, they will be eager to put on a show in front of their fans and are priced at 3.00 to win their group, behind Switzerland, who are the favourites to emerge as group winners at 1.80.
Although Canada may not finish as group winners, they should still be able to secure the top two ahead of Bosnia and Qatar.
Housebets Group B Prediction
Five-time champions Brazil headline group C and will be looking to get the job done. While this current Brazil side is not as strong as the Brazil side of the past, they are still favourites to win the group.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men are priced at 1.20 to win the group and 1.05 to finish in the top two. The second spot should be a straight shootout between Scotland and Morocco.
The Scots, making their return to the competition for the first time since 1998, are priced at 1.20 to qualify, while the Atlas Lions, who finished fourth in Qatar, are priced at 1.12 to qualify.
Housebets Group C Prediction
The pressure is on the USA to perform in front of their home crowd this summer, but they are also in a tricky group. It is expected that the USA and Türkiye will battle for the top spot, with the Yanks slightly favoured at 2.35.
However, watch out for Australia, as they are also capable of causing an upset, while Paraguay are no slouch, either. The Socceroos are priced at 8.00 to win the group, while La Albirroja are priced at 4.70. This is really a difficult group to call.
Housebets Group D prediction
Four-time Champions Germany are the top dog in Group E and should have no problem showing that. Although Ivory Coast will be a challenge, Die Mannschaft’s quality should stand out.
Julian Nagelsmann’s men are priced at 1.27 to win the group, ahead of Ecuador, who are surprisingly the second favourites at 5.00.
La Tri are priced at 1.55 to qualify in second, ahead of the Ivory Coast, who are priced at 1.95 to finish second.
Housebets Group E prediction
This is another group that has the potential for an upset, although the Netherlands will be the favourites.
Having reached the quarter-final in Qatar, the Oranje will be looking to go one step further this time. They are currently priced at 1.70 to finish top of their group ahead of Japan.
The Samurai Blue are, however, capable of an upset, which explains why they are priced at 4.50 to finish top ahead of Sweden (5.50) and Tunisia (8.00).
Japan and the Netherlands are also favourites to finish in the top two, while Tunisia are predicted to finish bottom.
Housebets Group F predictions
Belgium will be the team to beat, even though the Red Devils do not possess the same firepower as other strong nations.
However, considering they are in a favourable group, the Red Devils are priced at 1.35 to finish top. With Belgium seen as the likely group winners, the battle for second spot is up for grabs.
Currently, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt are seen as the second favourite at 5.50 to win the group, but Iran, valued at 7.00, are capable of upsetting the odds.
As for New Zealand, they are valued at 20.00 to win the group but valued at 2.25 to qualify from the group.
Housebets Group G prediction
Forget qualification; it will be one of the biggest shocks if Spain fail to qualify as group leaders in this group.
La Roja are the favourites to win this competition, which is why they are expected to blitz through this group. Del la Fuentes’ men are priced at 1.20 to win the group and are expected to do just that.
The second spot should go to Uruguay, who are priced at 1.15 for a top-two finish. The battle for the third spot should be between Saudi Arabia and Cabo Verde, with the Saudis currently seen as the favourite.
Housebets Group H prediction
Although the expanded format has made it difficult to have a group of death, Group I is the closest to that in this edition.
France will definitely be the favourites due to the quality that they possess. Les Bleus, who reached the final of the last two World Cups, winning one, are priced at 1.40 to win the group and 1.07 for a top-two finish.
While France will be the favourites, keep an eye on Senegal and Norway. These two countries could be dark horses at this year’s World Cup.
In fairness, it is a toss-up between those two in a potential battle for a top-two finish, but Norway are the slight favourites at 1.45, while the Teranga Lions are priced at 2.40.
As for Iraq, they will be looking to spoil the party, but it is unlikely they will make any impact.
Housebets Group I prediction
Defending champions Argentina are in Group J and will be confident in their chances. However, despite their pedigree and quality, La Albiceleste are susceptible to upsets.
Still, Lionel Messi and his teammates are priced at 1.30 to win the group and 1.07 for a top-two finish. Austria should qualify in second place behind Argentina, although Ralf Rangnick’s men are capable of an upset.
Das Team are priced at 5.50 to win the group and 1.55 to secure a top-two finish. Algeria will be targeting the third spot, which could be good for one of the best losers' spots.
The Desert Warriors are priced at 2.35, ahead of Jordan, who will most likely be the whipping team of the group.
Housebets Group J prediction
This is Cristiano Ronaldo’s last chance to win a World Cup, and he will be hoping his team can get off to a good start.
Portugal have one of the most impressive squads in this tournament and are priced at 1.40 to win their group. Roberto Martinez’s men are also priced at 1.08 for a top-two finish, which should be the bare minimum.
If any team in the group challenges Portugal, it will be most likely Colombia. Los Cafeteros can be dangerous, which explains why they are priced at 3.70 to win the group and 1.20 for a top-two finish.
While Portugal and Colombia are favourites, DR Congo could also cause an upset. The Leopards are priced at 4.50 for a top-two spot and 9.00 to win the group.
Debutants Uzbekistan are the last team in the group and are expected to finish bottom.
Housebets Group K predictions
All eyes will be on England in Group L as they aim to add a second star. The Three Lions are favourites at 1.30 to progress as group winners and 1.05 to finish in the top two.
With England likely to lead the group, Croatia will most likely finish in second place. Zlatko Dalić’s men are priced at 1.45 for a top-two finish and 4.5 to win the group.
The battle for third and fourth place should be between Ghana and Panama, with the Black Stars currently favourites to secure third.
Housebets Group L prediction

Spain are currently the favourite to win the competition, with the European champions priced at 5.50 to win a second World Cup.
La Roja has a deep young core, led by the talented Lamine Yamal. Yamal is the star of this Spanish side, but it is their midfield that will cause trouble. Known for their all-possession style, Spain will definitely be a difficult team to beat.
Behind Spain is France, priced at 6.00 to win it again. France have reached the final of the last two editions, with a majority of that core still in the squad.
On paper, Didier Deschamps’ men have the most talented squad, but the manager has to let them express themselves.
Les Bleus possess a lot of players with individual brilliance, led by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, who could be key in the latter stages.
England, Argentina and Brazil are up next, with the Three Lions priced at 7.00. Thomas Tuchel is already facing criticism for the squad he named, but if England play to their full potential, they can make a deep run.
Both Brazil and Argentina are priced at 9.00, but it depends on whether their squad can raise their level against the likes of Spain and France.
What works in their favour, though, is the weather, as that could play a huge factor in North America this summer.
