Check out our preview of the 2026 Miami Open, including Victoria Mboko’s title odds at Housebets.
The Miami Open kicks off this week, and all eyes will be on Canada’s new star, Victoria Mboko, in the women’s section. This is the fourth WTA 1000 event of the year for the women and the second ATP Masters of the year for the men.
With 1000 ranking points at stake, the year’s Miami Open promises to be competitive. A friendly reminder that you can bet on all the games at Housebets, including the winner in both the men’s and women’s sections.

On the women’s side, Indian Wells champion Aryna Sabalenka is the favourite, with the Belarusian priced at 3.0 to do a Sunshine double.

However, one name to keep an eye on is Mboko, Canada’s newest tennis star. The 18-year-old is one of the names who could win the title following her rise in the last 15 months.
We will take a look at her chances in this piece and see who can stop her.
Mboko’s rise in women’s tennis has been nothing short of spectacular. About 18 months ago, she was not even in the conversation, ranked 350th in the WTA rankings.
However, her story changed 15 months ago, when she won the Montreal Open as an unranked player.
Mboko’s win was not just a fluke win like that of Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. She had to beat some heavyweights en route to the title.
The 18-year-old knocked out Coco Gauff (2023 U.S. Open and 2025 French Open champion), Sofia Kenin (2020 Australian Open victor) and Elena Rybakina (2022 Wimbledon queen) before beating four-time major champion Naomi Osaka in the final.

That win in Montreal launched the start of what will likely be a promising career. Now ranked ninth in the WTA rankings, the Canadian teenage sensation will be looking to win her second 1000 event in Miami.
Since winning in Montreal last year, Mboko has been on the rise, winning the WTA Newcomer of the Year award in December.
The 18-year-old has had an impressive start to the year, reaching the final at the Adelaide International, where she lost to her fellow 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva.
She backed up that performance with a fourth-round exit at the Australian Open, losing in straight sets to Sabalenka.
Following her impressive performance at Down Under, Mboko reached the final at the Qatar Open (her second final in a 1000 event), but she lost in straight sets to Karolina Muchová.
The 18-year-old then skipped Dubai before losing to Sabalenka again in the quarter-final of Indian Wells.
Given her rise, it is fair to say the next step for Mboko is to start winning these matchups against some of the top players in the world.
Mboko is seen as a dark horse for the title, with the Canadian teenage sensation priced at 13.00 to win the title.
However, she might have to beat some heavyweights depending on draws and results if she is to win a second 1000’s event.
Which players can stop Victoria Mboko at the Miami Open?
Sabalenka is the favourite going to Miami, where she will be looking to do the Sunshine Double after winning Indian Wells.
The Belarusian has reached the final of all three events she has played this year, winning two (Brisbane and Indian Wells).
Behind Sabalenka is Elena Rybakina, who has played two finals against the Belarusian this year.
Rybakina beat the world No. 1 in the final of the Australian Open but lost the rematch at Indian Wells recently. The Kazakhstani is priced at 6.50 to win the title in Miami ahead of Iga Swiatek, who is priced at 7.00.
Other players in the conversation are Jessica Pegula (11.00), Coco Gauff (12.00), and Amanda Anisimova (12.00)
